Today’s the day!!
Robin Ellis’ Mediterranean Vegetarian Cooking emerges into the sunlight–my fourth cookbook:
A joyful day for Meredith (photographer, chief-taster and bottle-washer) and me (writer and cook).
It is available now on Amazon.uk, Foyles, Waterstones, Blackwell’s, Hive and The Book Depository (free worldwide delivery) and from good bookstores. It’s available as an ebook too!
(In North American, the publication date is not until August 18th–but The Book Depository will send it to you NOW.)
The recipes are simple, seasonal and do not have long lists of ingredients. Dare I say they are delicious too?
Meredith and I are not fully paid up veggies but we’ve both enjoyed this voyage of discovery ’round the Mediterranean Sea.
The ingredients are often similar in the different countries that border the sparkling waters, but the treatment varies–like the difference between a French omelette and an Italian frittata.
Herbs and spices feature strongly; olive oil is the cooking medium and the sun an ever-present element, ripening the ingredients and honing the flavours.
Our new vegetable patch is bursting to show off its wares. (“Me, Me–I’m ripe!“) and this book provides plenty of ideas for what to do with them!
We planted it this year on an old compost heap–and here is the BEFORE and AFTER:
Happy😁! Getting ready to order. Been waiting for new book. Happy for you
I would wait until August. And have it as a birthday present to my self. But I guess I anxious for it now

Hi Robin,
I have pre-ordered your new cookbook and cannot wait to receive it. I am a long time fan of yours and met you and Meredith twice at book signings in Arlington, Virginia and New York City several years ago. I have all of your books. Wishing you much success with your new book!
Robin Ellis I am eagerly awaiting my copy! As one of the Bravehearts, class of 2014, I am solidly in the corner of Mediterranean cooking!

Ordered just now through Book Depository. I can’t believe the free shipping, and I’ll get it before August! The recipes look delicious, and a really good vegetarian cookbook is what I’ve been searching for.
Hi Robin,
Great – congratulations again! You both must be very pleased and proud. It looks very attractive – and appetizing!
I would like to dedicate a blog to the new arrival. Would you allow me to use part of your blog, plus a couple of photos? I intend to add a brief introduction,so I’ll clear it with you first if you like.
Very hot here, and likely to remain so for a week or two at least. We were promised thunderstorms but they all missed us, sometimes by only half a kilometre. Grrr! However, the raspberries are abundant and tasty this year.
Keep safe, both of you,
Love,
Keith (and Helen)

Congratulations Robin on your new progeny, hope the shelves aren’t straining too much with the new edition, or should that be addition? The view from the terrace has me pining to get that special pocket of France later this summer. Fingers crossed. I have fond memories of a barmy evening Chez nous, good chat and an Ottolenghi salad.
Oops. Chez vous…
Thank you for the cook book information Was thinking about your new book and you all yesterday and here was the email this morning. I will put in my Amazon order and look forward to trying some new food creations. Life has truly been very restrictive and only necessary outings, sadly mostly for medical reasons. Have been writing poems and doing some art. Photos attached. Keep well and happy dining. Warmest regards Rachel
This is the blossoms from our garden, my husband had the green thumb I just take their pictures!

Congratulations! Will get it when it shows up over here..enjioy the rest of your summer you two.
Oh my everything looks do beautiful, how I would love to be in that lovely place as well..I was wondering Mr. Ellis when you first developed Diabetes? It runs on both sides of my family and tragically my brother was diagnosed too late. The disease had ravaged his body and he died at only 43. Also, when did you become such a GOURMET!?😊😮 I guess I just have to add, ad Aidan Turner I’d wonderful as Ross Poldark…but YOU will always be he…..to me!!!( I was 18 watching PBS)
Diagnosed 20 years ago. So sorry to learn of your brother. My mother was type 1 so I was aware how serious it could be. I’m would never describe myself as a gourmet I just like simple food cooked simply.
Many congratulations on your latest cook-book Robin – fantastic news!
I’ve been a vegetarian now for 25 years and can’t wait to try out your recipes.
