I have been commissioned to write another cookbook!
Publisher Constable and Robinson proposes the title: Healthy Eating for Life–and I like it.
It widens the remit of Delicious Dishes for Diabetics a little–and straightforwardly tells you what its’s about.
Hope James—who did the wonderfully atmospheric illustrations for DDD–has agreed to a repeat.
It is due out in January 2014.
Head down!
P.S. Poldark—‘e be out!
My expanded and revised memoir of the Poldark series–Making Poldark–released earlier this year, is now available as an eBook for Kindle via Amazon.com ($10.29). It will be out for Nook and other platforms soon!
Congratulations!
Thanks, Lynn-Steven!
Congrats on the new commission! I will look forward to it…what impresses me most about your recipes is the simplicity, the lack of fussiness, and the overarching theme of healthy and seasonal meals. I can’t say that I have literally followed your cookbook, but I read it, and I have followed your blog for over a year, and the effect is that I have *absorbed* your message, and it has changed my way of eating (and I am not diabetic)! If I made only one request, it would be something for a sweet tooth..within reason of course! Dates, figs, nuts – anything along those lines?
Thanks Debra–desserts will get their just dessert! Maybe no dates, though, which are loaded with sugar.
Congratulations and I know a lot of it goes to Meredith, too. There is always a good person on the sidelines. Best to you both. Loved the pumpkin all lit up.
Sheila
I can hardly wait! In the meantime, I will work through the rest of DDD I haven’t gotten to yet. I have favorites I keep repeating and making variations of depending on what’s available. Pretty soon I’m going to have to brave the squid stew, if frozen cleaned squid will suffice. What do you think, will it do?
Brave it! brave it! I’ve never used frozen squid–but it should work.
Robin what brilliant news.I alway hoped you would write more books, they always are so full of your enthusiasm, and sheer joy of what it is you are writing about,
Congratulations and I look forward to seeing your next book. What I loved about your first book was that it proved that good food can be simple, healthy and full of fabulous flavours. So thank you for that 🙂
BTW, I saw an article about the difference between produce in France and Britain. I thought you might have an opinion on it!

I can’t wait to get my copy when it emerges from your gifted pen!!!

Excellent news! I look forward to meeting you and Meredith at Stratford-upon Avon Literary Festival in Spring 2014 and geetting my copy signed! Bonne Chance! Helen
Congratulations! This is fantastic news. I am a huge fan of Poldark and then found your blog fairly recently. I purchased your cookbook and have loved everything I’ve made. It’s great to have it on my nook, so it’s with me all the time. Diabetes runs in my family so healthy eating is always on my mind. My children – ages 8 and 5 – love the recipes as well. Whenever I make something particularly delicious they always ask me if this is one of Poldark’s recipes. 🙂 Thank you for providing me with new inspiration in the kitchen. I hope that you will do another tour in the states after it is released. I would love to thank you in person.
Great stuff Robin! Congratulations 😉
Great news but keep the stress levels down!
My husband’s granddaughter is about to get Delicious Dishes for her birthday next week – she is type1.
oh thats great news!!! 🙂 i think i should be more inclined to purchase this one – as im not a diabetic – i would have felt a bit of a fraud buying your first offering (I know that sounds crazy……)!!
Good news about the Poldark on Kindle too – off to have a look for that one now! 🙂 xxx
Looking forward to the new cookbook. Also the e-version of your Poldark book (I cherish an autographed copy of the original, btw) because I am thinking about treating myself to the new Kindle HD for Christmas.
I made a version of your cauliflower chickpea curry this week. It was a big hit with the guys who grew the cauliflower but haven’t liked anything I have done with it till this!! Thank You for that. Shelagh in Vermont.
Very happy to hear this news, Robin. I have bought so many copies of DDD – each time I buy one for myself, I end up giving it away (or ‘lending’ & finding it isn’t returned!!) You have a great gift for communicating the joy of simple, healthy & seasonal dishes made from fresh & local ingredients. Brilliant. Hoping you are both well and happy November (already!)
Thanks Rachel–and thanks for buying SO many books!!
Great news!! Robin,I found the recipes in your cookbook work really well for IBS symptoms.I am a high school spec Ed and cooking teacher and have discussed some of the concepts in your cookbook with my student.Diabetes is on the rise with young people for sure.Yur Canadian fans would love a visit from Meredith and yourself!!
On verra, Janet!–thanks.
Congratulations! I will look forward to it. Can’t wait to download “Poldark” on my kindle.
Just downloaded Making Poldark. I have a print edition bought many moons ago on a Poldark pilgrimage to Cornwall. Looking forward to reading the updates and your new cookbook.
Thanks Peter–hope you enjoy the update!
Hooray! I’ve had the same experience as Rachel Lucas and will be prepared to buy in bulk next time round.
Wow–thanks Liz. I’m on my way with it!
Congratulations on the new book-to-come! I hope you use some of the wonderful photos which adorn this blog, they add so much to the pleasure of reading it.
Such exciting news. Congratulations Robin! I’m really looking forward to getting the new book.
A thought occurred to me last night that for once we 592 blog readers might be able to help you. Have you enough content already for the book or are you interested in suggestions from us? Maybe healthy family recipes or recipes that we made up ourselves. You could adapt them if needed to optimize the healthy approach or the diabetes friendly approach. Would that be helpful to you or would it just submerge you in more work than you can handle?
I principal this is a good idea,Tina–thanks.Let me mull it over…
Looking forward to the new book. I noticed in your cauliflower recipe that (BTW, I have on my shopping list to make that recipe) you used coconut milk. I hear that coconut in so many forms is good for your heart. It as an oil is good to add to so many foods. I also use it on my skin. Can’t wait to see what you have in mind?
Wonderful!!!! But keep up with your blog, ok? 😉
Looking forward to the new book. Last year I gave many copies of DDD for Christmas presents.
Have DDD and the Making Poldark book, but was wondering if it is possible to get any autographed copies?
