On our way to the USA soon–and I have two public book events. Come along and say hello, if you’re in the neighborhood!
First in Providence, Rhode Island on Saturday, May 6th 2pm at the Brown University Bookstore:
The second is in Evanston, Illinois (a suburb north of Chicago) on Wednesday, May 10, organized by the bookstore, Bookends & Beginnings, as part of the Evanston Literary Festival.
Tickets info for the Evanston event: http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/2891728
How I wish I could attend. Good luck with both events, and safe passage to the US.
My wife and I enjoy your work and postings. Please continue.
Good Health for you and your family.
Thanks to you and your wife and good health to you too!
Dear Sir
We will have to read the book. My wife wanted you all to know we are almost done with the 1970s episodes. She is sad.
She cooks from the book.Funny thing, she only recently confided she is borderline diabetic, while we were talking about the cook book… I had never known.
Best of luck with the tour.
(Rhode Island: legendary colonial home of smuggling and piracy!) .
So happy to hear that your wife is “cooking from the book”. I hope it will help with her diagnosis. It’s scary to be told you are this or that.
She sounds like she has it under control. All the best to he
r and yourself.
Hello Robin.
Will there be another signing in the Chicago area during the day? My husband is due to be out of town that week and I need to be home for our son.
Marla
Please be careful. And I pray you and Meredith have a safe trip to the USA. I wish you were coming to the Southwestern portion of Pennsylvania. Indiana County, Pa. to be exact. Not the State of Indiana. I had planned on trying to get to N.Y. when you were here before, But due to unforseen circumstances I moved from the area where I had lived all of my life. I would like copies of all of your books because I try to eat healthy and I’ve seen many recipes which you have posted that look delicious. I am a vegetarian but I do eat some fish and a small amount of fish. Also a big fan of Master Poldark of course. Cheers…….
Thanks, Mary.
I meant chicken….Sorry I said fish twice. Oh well. Not awake yet. LOL
I FROM BROOKLYN NEW YORK WISH YOU A HAPPY SUCCESSFUL AND SAFE TRIP
CLAIRE
Gosh, I hope we can make it to the Providence discussion–we have lots of things going on that weekend. But what would I have you sign this time? Am running out of things… You’re just gonna have to write ANOTHER book! 😉 Hopefully see both of you soon–
Dianne & Gene
OK–I’ll get on it!
Thanks for sharing your post Robin. Hope you and your wife have a good time in the US. A pity I live in Nebraska. All the best to you both.
Thanks, Rachel.
Good luck .
Is this the trip when you’re coming to Santa Fe, NM? I hope so.
Nancy,
Santa Fe.
Yes it is, Nancy.
WONDERFUL!!!! What dates? Where will you be signing? Will you be doing a cooking demo? I’LL BE THERE.
Be sure to ask your hosts to take you on a day or half-day trip to the Valles Caldera (a huge extinct volcano crater) and then beyond that to Bandalier Park to see the ancient cave dwellings! Impressive! On the way back, you might stop at Gabriel’s the ONLY place to have good Mexican food. They make guacamole at your table. A MUST. You can Google all of these places for a preview.

Still another afterthought: It’s way too early, but . . . Santa Fe is at 7,000 ft, so the air is thin. Be sure to drink LOTS of water and NO alcohol for the first few days. Nancy D.
Hi Robin,
I just wanted to write and tell you how much I enjoy reading your posts. I enjoyed reading about your trip to Italy and your trips to the outdoor markets and special dinners. I recently made Pork Chops and White Beans baked in orange juice from your recipe and everyone loved it!
I hope you have a good trip to the U.S. and best regards to you and Meredith!
Sincerely,
Sandy (the one from the New York book signing in September)
Thanks Sandy–so happy the recipe worked well.
Hi Robin:
I already have my tickets for the book event in Chicago. Will be driving up from the Twin Cities in Minnesota and will be bringing my sister from North Dakota with me this time. I’m looking forward to meeting Meredith and you again. It’s been 5 years since your last trip to Chicago. I am also the person who sent you a twitter that I was high bidder on a Poldark poster signed by 9 of the 3rd season cast members in a charity auction by Mammoth Screens. You said you would sign it. Your autograph on the poster will be the icing on the cake! See you in a few weeks.
Mary Lou-Minnesota
With pleasure, Mary Lou.
Hi Robin:
Also wishing Meredith and you a safe journey to the USA.
Mary Lou
Even though traffic and weather delayed me I was thrilled to make to your signing in Evanston. My mother and I watched the original series from the very beginning. I have watched it several times since and enjoy it every time. The new series takes a different approach but it is so beautifully executed that they are hard to compare. Thank you so much for having this event.
Thanks to you too, Andrea, for coming. I enjoyed it immensely.
Hello Robin,
Just want to say how much my husband and I enjoyed your presentation at the Brown University bookstore last month. Thanks to you, Meredith and your friend, Deb.
I mentioned to my 20-something daughter that Wolf Alice has a new album coming soon; she told me about a single they’ve just released in the UK. So there you have it – two generations of Ellis fans!
Best wishes for a good summer at your lovely home in France.
Carol
Thanks, Carol. We enjoyed the event hugely. Good to know Wolf Alice’s fame is spreading. We saw Theo a few days ago and heard the single which is very strong. It is all very exciting.
