AUGUST 3rd in the States, Leslie
I wish I had a Kindle. I have to wait until August to order your book from Amazon. The photos of the food look terrific. I am looking forward to getting this cookbook.
Good morning! What a perfect lead-in to breakfast.Robin. the ONLY place I’ve been which uses vegetables as creatively as you do is Turkey.
Thanks and sorry for the delay in replying.
I am pea green with envy I can’t be there to enjoy these delicious dishes with the most handsome chef to weld a chef knife to dice and slice. Love you Robin…
Sorry for the delay in replying, Charlotte.
The chicken dish with the green beans and spinach looks yummy !😋👌
Sorry for the delay, Ivonne.
A very timely publication Robin! Lots of people are asking about Mediterranean style cooking as a result of Michael Mosley’s recently published Blood Sugar Diet, where he recommends it as a long term way of eating. Not just for diabetics either – it helps us all to control our blood sugar and has lots of health benefits. I look forward to reading and using it. And well done for the photos Meredith.
Thanks Belinda–and sorry for missing your comment.
It’s a wonderful read, everyone! Lots of wonderful recipes, beautiful photos and interesting tips & tales. Treasuring my copy already, and one on the way to my Mum too. Many congratulations Robin (and your resident photographer!) x
Bless you, Rachel and thank you for all your on-going support.
By the way…US readers who can’t wait (don’t blame you!)…do you know about The Book Depository? It’s a ‘no-frills’ offshoot of Amazon that sends books with completely free delivery worldwide! My sister in Australia uses it regularly, as do I…I’ve just checked and Robin’s new book is available now for the same price as it is on Amazon UK. So that’s an option (www.thebookdepository.co.uk).
Thanks for this info, Rachel–really helpful.
Actually, The Book Depository was UK? independent online seller that was bought by Amazon last year.
Wow. I really love that table setting, too!
Great photos! Sorry to miss you in London. Good luck with the book. Love, Constantine
Dear friend–we are sorry too–a un de ces jours, alors. Love rxx

I’m going to check The Book Depository to see about getting a copy but. in the meantime, the photos are a feast for the eyes! All the dishes are so colorful and look both healthy and delicious! Thank you for posting them. I look forward to trying as many recipes as I can. Thank you! and best wishes for many sales and many converts to a wonderful way of cooking.
Thank you, Susan–I hope you get lucky. I believe it is available from the Book Depository.
The only cook book i have ordered since the big Gourmet Magazine cookbook that came out years ago. You, Mr. are the business and if I were your lovely wife I’d have you wear that smokey Poldark costume a lot more than you probably do !
Thanks Kim–too kind!

As my diabetes is out of control I will try to order it on the The Book Depository. Thanks to Rachel Lucas info.
Dear Robin,
Your new book sounds wonderful…I hope you included fave beans and dandelion greens..my Italian mother ate them raw in a salad, from her garden with olive oil and vinegar ….shelived to be 99; no meds, no serious illnesses…

Your fan & admirer always,

Don’t know WHEN I’ve seen such beautifully presented food! Congrats to your excellent photographer. I will put the release date onto my calendar with a reminder to hotfoot it to Barnes and Noble!
All the best!
And yes, please keep us yankees in the loop on your book tours!
Nancy N from NYC
Thanks, Nancy–hope you enjoy it…
Congratulations to our cook hero and his heroine Meredith! Bravi !!!!!
Dear Paola–thank you from us both.
Hi there I’ve just ordered your new book, the pictures were just too tempting and while not diabetic myself my father had later life type 2 diabetes so I stand a chance of inheriting that. His was also diet controlled without medication but he was so miserable with the choices of food he had, your book goes to show that you can make a healthy change and still eat good tasty food. Can’t wait to try them! Regards Annette

Thank you Annette–Your message is the first I read today and made my day! You are right about the choices open to those with Diabetes. No need to feel deprived. Hope you enjoy the book.
The pictures have me salivating already! I’ll definitely order from The Book Depository. Can hardly wait to start cooking a la Robin Ellis. Always delighted when one of your posts arrives, especially this one,.
Nancy, Santa Fe, NM
Hi Santa Fe! and thanks, Nancy.
While I’m not a diabetic myself, I believe that everyone esp older folks should eat a healthy diet with less sugar & additives. I’m also an ovarian cancer patient (with fibromyalgia!) since 2009, and take chemotherapy. My diet has to be full of rich greens and other high vitamin-packed fruit and vegetables.
I’m looking forward to getting your book; following it on Amazon at present.
I can’t wait to get some new healthy recipes ideas.
Best wishes to you Robin, on another fabulous writing success.
Stephanie
Thanks, Stephanie and I hope you find the book helpful.
Looks like your salmon cakes made the cut–yum!! 🙂
Sure did!
Simply stunning photographs! This book is destined to be a well thumbed item in countless homes! Happy Launch day UK! 🙂
Thanks Dorinda–you are coming on the workshop in September–right? If you feel Ok with it could you repeat this comment on Amazon.co.uk
The dishes look fantastic, Mr. Ellis. Asparagus, seafood..All very colourful on the plate too.
It was lovely to meet you and Meredith yesterday at Books for Cooks. Thank you for signing my copy of Mediterranean Cooking for Diabetics and for posing with me! I’m looking forward to making some of its deliciously illustrated recipes!
The book I mentioned to you is Honey From a Weed: Fasting and Feasting in Tuscany, Catalonia, the Cyclades and Apulia by Patience Gray (Papermac, 1987)
Enjoy your return to Cornwall and the rest of your UK trip.
Best wishes,
Helen
Thanks for the tip, Helen–I just ordered it.
Robin, Is your new book available in the bookshops in Republic of Ireland or Northern Ireland?, or is it just available in mainland UK at the moment. If I can’t find it in the shops I’ll buy it online. I wish you the very best of luck with it. May the force be with you and may it sell millions of copies.
I will check, Kieren.
Kieran,
Hi, Does your book show calories and carb amounts per recipe/serving?
It doesn’t, Alison.
What my books try to do is to encourage people to take charge and eat sensibly and with moderation.
It is “a way of eating” not a diet that they promote–something that will become second nature.
I think it is important to be able to look forward to eating without too much counting of numbers.
That some people have to take particular care when eating and that for them precision is important–of course I understand.
Precise measurement of ingredients and contents matters to them and the maintenance of their well being.
I’ve slowed down a bit, but for about a month, 4-5/wk, I’d been making ginormous–in the size bowl from which one normally serves salads–green salads with strips of spearmint, basil, lemon thyme from my planters, olives, capers, Persian cukes (sweet with no bitter in the skin), heirloom tomatoes in season, and any other vegetation that looks interesting. This is tossed lightly in oil of olives and lemons pressed together, and lemon juice, a standard Middle-Eastern dressing. Then I top it with lox, or bits of poultry, cheese, or meat. Takes me an hour to eat, and that’s often while watching favorite programs with my belle-mère–no chips for me! I often eat a small sweet after, if I don’t opt for toasted ciabatta/francese bread, or a whole grain bread, with butter.
Lots of colors, and a shift in my dinner choices. Of course, if it’s been 80 or so during the day, I can’t eat hot food without incident, until and hour or two after dark, so it’s cold or light foods, if not just liquids, to get me through the heat of the day. Good for summer eating.
I had lunch at an Indian buffet this week with a friend of mine, who, seeing so little food on my plate, asked me if I didn’t like the food. I told her this was my current usual meal portion.
