I have to get this next edition, it’s available on my daughter’s birthday!! The audio book edition for her perhaps- she WAS born in the 70s!!
Best regards,

Audio should be out soon but probably not by your daughter’s birthday. Will keep you posted.
Thank you!!

Hello Robin,
Although the new series is quite good, my heart still belongs to you and Angharad Rees!!!! I so enjoyed the original series and it will always remain my favourite t.v. series ever.
I love your blog and all the recipes.
Best wishes
Hilary
Thank you, Hilary. I enjoy writing it and to getting back to it when the Poldark frenzy gets quieter!

We will be with friends in London–so it’ll be a surprise!Buona Pasqua to you both!
I recently finished reading your book “Making Poldark”. I really enjoyed the book and it gave great insight into the filming of the series. I am anxiously waiting to see the new Poldark when it is shown in the U.S. The original Poldark was one on my favorite TV series of all time – you and Anghared Rees were perfect as Ross and Demelza. I have the DVD’s of the original series which I have watched many times.
By the way, I prepared your recipe for roasted chicken last night for dinner. My husband is diabetic and it is a perfect dish for him – très délicieux! Thanks for sharing your wonderful recipe.
Bonne Journée!
Debra
Bonjour, Debra! and thank you–I’m glad the chicken worked! Sounds like your husband is doing well with “his diabetes”–il faut prendre en soin!
The USA must wait but we still remember the Original and think no one can ever replace that but we will watch
Yeah book Issue number 3 pre ordered looking forward to it Happy Easter Robin & Meredith
Thank you, Deborah.
Can’t wait to see this Robin! And congrats on your great reviews!
Thanks, Maureen.
Dear Robin I have recently bought your Delicious Dishes for Diabetics and wonder, please, how many frozen broad beans are needed for the ‘Broad beans with shallots and bacon bits’ recipe (p 68)? Fresh beans are seldom found for sale in UK and I hardly think you mean 2kg of frozen for four people do you? Thank you Liz Wood PS Haven’t watched the new Poldark yet (it’s recorded) but remember enjoying the first one!
>
Never tried it with frozen, Liz. Start off with a pound and see if that works. That is probably what 2k of fresh roughly produce.
I’ve been hearing such good things about the new series, can’t wait until June when it airs here in the US. Had just been chatting with a friend in London who mentioned you would also be in the episode for next Sunday. She told me several weeks back that despite her expecting to be thinking Ross during your first appearance in the remake, she said even your voice sounded different.
I will order the new edition, looking forward to reading it.
I have a copy of your original book (I picked it up when I was in Cornwall with friends years ago) and I can’t wait to see the new edition.
I’m happy to hear that the 2015 version is doing well. Sadly, I’m in the U.S. so it’ll be a while before Poldark comes over here. (I know I could stream it but I’d like to wait.) My mugs of tea and shortbread are at the ready! 😀
Not too long to wait–June; though you may have to re-brew the tea!
No worries; I’ll just ice it. I’m a Southerner…..around here we call ice tea “Southern champagne”! 😉 Hahahaha.
Dear Robin
Loved tonight’s episode and you played your part brilliantly. Strange to see you play such a different character as your Rev. Halse is very mean and cold.
Just returned from our holidays and have watched 3 episodes today! Fabulous.
Hope you and Meredith had a great Easter. Best wishes, Heidi
Thanks Heidi–it’s fun to play nasty at times!
Ha ha! I’m looking forward to your next appearance then Robin.
Hi Robin
The new edition of Making Poldark is now on Amazon UK. Ordered it Saturday and it arrived today so I now have the 80’s, coloured and new editions.
Thoroughly enjoyed your portrayal of Rev Halse and hopefully he’ll reappear at George and Elizabeth’s wedding in the next series.
That is great news, Karen–thanks for the info.
Now that I’ve gotten to see you in both episodes of Poldark 2.0 I have to say — what a treat to see you on the screen again! You were marvelous. Best wishes from Nebraska……
Thanks, Marti–over there!
HI Robin, My book has just arrived. So I have declared this an official duvet day!!!!!! Kind Regards Jane.
Thanks for buying it, Jane.
HI Robin, I have really enjoyed reading the book today. The one part of the book I thought really special when you wrote about the words Winston inscribed in a copy of the book “Ross Poldark” which he gave to you Christmas 1975. You can be certain I am and will always be one of those ten million the character and yourself have given so much pleasure to. Love the old and new photographs. Thank you for this new edition of the Making of Poldark. Kind Regards Jane
Thanks again for buying it Jane and for reading it!
Hi Robin,
I already have two copies of Making Poldark … but now seeing this I am sorely tempted to buy the new version too 🙂
I really enjoyed reading them. I like the cover of the old one better by the way. It really captures your character of Ross so well.
The new Poldark is excellent too and your appearances simply stunning. Your performance is all the more remarkable given the context of playing opposite Aidan who is playing your role of yesteryear … by the way I wouldn’t care to meet old Halse on a dark night.
For me there is one big thing missing in this new adaptation – Winston Graham’s humour. I’d like to see a bit less brooding on cliff tops and a bit more of Winston Graham’s subtle sense of humour coming through.
In any case a big ‘bravo’ to you and all concerned. Sunday nights just like when I was 14 (almost).
Belated happy birthday to Meredith
All the best
Tina
Good Evening Robin,
My updated ‘Making Poldark’ (2015) has just arrived!
Can’t wait to get into it! This arrival has guaranteed NO gardening or little else tomorrow☺️’
Loved Sunday’s episode- you scene stealer!!
Best regards
Fran Shaw
Thanks Fran–and thanks for buying the book.
Your recipes sound positively delicious! I shall share this on twitter.
PS Loved Poldark 🙂
I was watching the new series and hawk eyed spotted a familiar face! In googling to see if I was correct I came across this page and look forward to getting the book. I must say that though I am pleased to see a remake I can not help but run the previous series concurrently in my mind. You inhabited Poldark in such a manner that all else who follow, no matter how beautiful, are set to fall short. I feel sad when I think of Angharad, as you must….I will continue to watch this remake but it will not be etched into my being as the first is. Blessings to you Robin✿⊱╮
Thanks, Willo–very kind. I’m glad you are going to continue watching the new go-round.
