Time to “festival”!
Here for a week in Edinburgh.
First festival visit for nearly a quarter of a century–hard to believe how quickly the time flies.
We have achieved a modest total–for festival goers–of five plays, a variety show, a stand-up comedian, an art exhibit on the subject of witches and a talk by a lobby correspondent dishing the dirt on politicians, so far.
Meredith can count a visit to the book fair, a visit to the jazz club and ride on the bumper cars on top…
…while I was taking 24 hours to go to London to be the studio guest on SATURDAY LIVE on BBC Radio 4.

p.s. Oh yes and a whisky tasting too!
Wow! I envy you all the events! Great shot of Meredith kicking … on the bumper cars (the kid behind her is clearly enjoying her ride as much as she is!)
Looks like the weather cooled you guys down a bit?
When do you return to NY?
All the best,
Nancy Nichols
Meredith seems to be having a blast on those bumper cars!!
Sounds like so much fun! Have a wonderful time!
I heard the interview ‘live’ on Saturday…a wonderful surprise! Loved the story about the French woman now in Canada but visiting France who recognised you! Amazing coincidence. Looks like Edinburgh is great fun this year…enjoy!
Yes that’s fun! We call it autoscooter.
How fun! Best to you both
Meredith, I’m a bumping car junkie too. Love ’em!
About the interview; You are so right about the music in modern dramas. I find it is so intrusive and like you said manipulative and unnecessary. I have to add irritating too because as I’ve lost some hearing those sounds don’t register correctly and I am distracted trying to figure out what this or that sound was. Very nice interview. Thank you for posting the link.
Glad you had a great time. My grandaughter was performing last week with the Norfolk Youth Music Theatre .She had a fantastic time .In the theatre and busking as well. .
Listened to Saturday live last week .Good show .Really enjoyed it . Looking forward to your new book .My husband has type 2 diabetes and we love the recipes in your first book.
