Just after ten this morning I leaned into the kitchen table and under the keen eye of “she who records everything ” with the camera, I pressed the send button on my laptop–click.
After a longer than usual pause because of the contents of the email, we heard the familiar whoosh and off it went to Judith Mitchell my editor at Constable & Robinson in London.
The cookbook was sent and delivered simultaneously–a miracle we now take for granted.
An hour later when I returned from the market I checked for emails and Judith had replied, already downloaded the whole book and even glanced at the introduction–I feel breathless recounting this!
Title: Healthy Eating for Life
Publication date: January 2014.

Excellent – congratulations! Must be a good feeling 🙂
FABULOUS!! A happy day for you and Meredith!
Yes, it’s a great feeling, isn’t it? A mixture of triumph and relief that it is hard to explain to non-authors. After months of “…and what about this…and this…and this…” finally the beast comes to rest. No more whisperings and urgings and insistences from that internal wellspring source, wherever it comes from. Just beautiful, peaceful silence. Congratulations Robin!
Thanks Steven–you should know!
Congratulations and I look forward to it!
I know the feeling! Best wishes, Robin. I am anticipating more culinary delight!
Hooray!
Congratulation Robin!! Another triumph. Can’t wait to add it to my collection.
Thanks, Francia–all down to you in the end!!
Congrats. I was wondering why I hadn’t received your posts for the last three weeks. Best of luck with the book.
Robin
Congratulations! You did it – and made the deadline. We are full of admiration and are sure that it will do very well. Enjoy the workers’ holiday tomorrow. Love from us both, K

Love the title of your new book! Your recipes are not just for diabetics, but for all people who want to live a healthy lifestyle.
They are Anita–thanks
Hurrah, hurrah and well done! But won’t be truly satisfied until it is resting on my kitchen shelf next to it’s dogged-eared from use brother, “Delicious Dishes for Diabetics”! When is publication?
Thanks–January 2014
Congratulations, Robin! It must be a thrill to have your second cookbook about to be published. (I just had one recipe included in an America’s Test Kitchen cookbook and was so excited that I bought just about everyone I knew a copy!) I am sure your new cookbook will be a success.
Do you know when it will be published in the United States.
And it’s a book not only for diabetics or non-diabetics but those who don’t want to BECOME a diabetic. Please let us know where and when we can purchase the book!
Many congratulations on sending your baby out into the world. I can’t wait to be able to order a copy. Your recipes are so appetizing and a wonderful encouragement for eating more healthily.
Can’t wait to host the next book signing! Congratulations! Randi andIzzy
Thanks Randi and Izzy–you are on for the hosting; bless you!
Well, you will know how all your loyal readers and followers feel to read this! And I can imagine how you feel having completed the task. Enjoy a rest and await the ‘birth’! We’ve missed you here. Best wishes to you both xx
I too missed your posts. But for a wonderful reason. I intend to buy my five married sons your book. Diabetes runs in my family. It will help them cook and eat healthy and maybe avoid this terrible disease. Thank you.
Congratulations Robin! It’s bound to be a hit especially with such a zeitgeist-y title! Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy and also to reading your posts again.
I hope you will seriously consider doing a session at the 7th Stratford-upon-Avon Literary Festival in April 2014,and also a visit with Meredith to the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust Library and Archive.
Helen
Dear Robin, Congratulations !!! from Puske-puske & Chantal hughs !
This post gave me a chance to relive my own experience again – brought it all back to me. Best wishes.
Yay–congratulations, Robin! I imagine you must feel a bit like we teachers do at the end of the school year: you send the kids off with a “good luck,” want to yell “whew!” & put up your feet…then finally, a good long summer break & you’re thinking about planning for the NEXT year–err, book! 🙂 Congrats!
Cheers, cheers, & hugs!
Great stuff Robin and Meredith – wish you ever success with the book. X
Dear Robin, my most sincere congratulations! You haven’t any idea how pleased I’m to know that my “predictions” came out to be true. I’ll be waiting for January 2014 and another book signing at Primrose Hill…
I also wondered why you had been so quite! SO excited about the next book. Hope that if you do another U.S. book tour you’ll stop in Philadelphia or, maybe, even Delaware! 🙂
Congrats, Robin! (and Meredith!) Like the rest, I’ve been missing your posts. But I totally understand the urgency of getting a project done. About to get back to my project–baked fish, grilled veg medley and salad for guests. Will be awaiting your next installments, and Meredith’s wonderful pictures.
Looking Forward to it Robin! Book Signings? lol, maybe Glasgow? Cheers
Congratulations. Looking forward to January 2014. Your books make great presents too, spreading the word.
So looking forward to the new book! This healthy cooking is great – we are transformed. Thank you, Robin

In January 2014!
Wonderful!
Congratulations! Looking forward to using recipes from it in the near future. Your blackened salmon recipe is always popular at dinner parties but incredibly twice now I’ve forgotten about the sauce in the fridge!! Never mind it is wonderful with ice-cream afterwards! By the way your picture as Ross was in the alphabet quiz in the Daily Mail Weekend Magazine on April 20th!
This must be a perfect book…. you look so happy on the picture!!
Lot’s of love and lot’s of success from Caroline
I was concernd about your silence for so long but now am thrilled about the new cookbook. While I may have to wait a little longer for it to come out in the USA, I will remain patient and get is as soon as I can. Can’t wait. Have made many, many recipes from the first book and this website that I can’t imagine cooking any other way. Also, thoroughly enjoy the posts about every day life in the village and the animals. Congratulations. pmh
