It’s publication day–August 4th–for Delicious Dishes for Diabetics!
In February 2010, Meredith and I popped into publishers Constable and Robinson in London for a meeting.
Eighteen months later and the book goes on sale–TODAY!
What can I SAY but–
HOORAY!
And a big THANK YOU to Francia, Paula, Judith, Hope, Paige, Alex,Holly, of course Meredith, and all those who have helped it along the WAY.
Thanks too to all for supporting the blog–which I’m enjoying writing hugely.
I’ ve got mine on order, can’t wait for it to come
Congratulations Robin!
My copy should be on the doorstep this morning!
Congratulations to you!
I hope you are going to celebrate in style, Robin….ie. go out and have something cooked for you, just to make a change.
Congratulations! I’m off to the UK next week and hope to buy a copy. I’m glad you enjoy writing the blog. I enjoy reading it!
Thanks, Liz–I’m glad you enjoy it.
Congratulations Robin! Are we going to see you back on our UK TV screens doing the chat show rounds talking about your book? Really hope so, it would be great to see you on the likes of ‘This Morning’, ‘The Wright Stuff’, ‘Loose Women’ etc, come on now just imagine how much fun you’d have promoting your book and talking to the girls. It’s been too long since we’ve seen you on our screens, come back, we need interesting, intelligent chat show guests to watch. Hope the book is a knock-out success!
Thanks, Karen. Hope to do some stuff in September–we’ll see if anyone bites…
Congratulations!
I hope people find it as tasty as it looks!
Should have mentioned; I noticed that we sold a copy (via Amazon from aTasteOfGarlic) a couple of days ago!
All the best
Keith
Thanks for that, Keith–good to know.
Congratulations!! Or, as they say in my language: “Gefeliciteerd!!”
Dank, Dieneke–!
Congratulations! And best wishes for success with the book. Looking forward to the US publication and my own copy later in the year.
Thanks, Lisa
My heartiest congratulations! I am looking forward to when it comes to Florida in November.
Thanks, Louise–It’ll be November before you can say “Jack Robinson”!
Can’t wait to get my copy when it’s available in the US. My husband swears there ARE no delicious diabetic recipes (from past experience), so I’m anxious to win him back from the “dark side” of starch and sugar. He eats as he should, but he doesn’t enjoy it. By the way…just discovered your web site this past week and am delighted to see that you are obviously enjoying life so completely.
Thanks, Joy.
Well I am cooking from the book and I don’t cook differently for Meredith, so I hope he will find some of the recipes “delicious”!
Hello Meredith & Robin – congratulation the day has arrived, though my copy from Amazon has not yet come, hoping it will be in the next few days.
I look forward to reading your blog, I always find it interesting & it makes me smile.
Once again congratulations. & I shall look forward to seeing you on our screens once more maybe. – Elaine
Thanks, Elaine–much appreciated.
Robin
Many congratulations.
As an OC (greatly liked the article in the Cholmelian) and a diabetic of some year’s standing, i am greatly looking forward to receiving the copy I have ordered.
With kind regards
Robert Clinton (Late The Lodge – a long tine ago!)
Thanks Robert–nice to hear from an OC.
Happy days on the whole at Highgate!
So Happy for you Robin, Ahhh, just come to a book shop here up town in Antwerp FNAC is famous for signer days of famous authors.Would be very good for the Belgium public and for the sales, they did not forget you here! Many regards.
Thanks, Chantal–we’ll have to wait and see.
Congratulations! I’ll be getting my copy when it comes out in the states–in November, I believe? It looks like it will be inspiring. 🙂 I had gestational diabetes and have been trying to stave off developing Type 2 diabetes as I get older. I definitely notice a difference in how I feel when I’ve eaten less processed foods. I am actually trained as a pastry chef, which is not good when you are trying to avoid sugar! lol
Once again, well done!

Hello and congratulations. I am eagerly awaiting the chance to buy a copy when it’s released in the US. I’ve been making some of the recipes you post on your blog and they are absolutely delicious. I too hope to see you on TV again, perhaps a cooking segment on the web or even your own show?? Of course if you were to return to acting that would be fantastc. Regardless, I’m very happy for you and wish you great success. Pat Harland, Oregon
Thanks,Pat–your comments greatly appreciated!
An alarming thought struck someone in our office earlier – that you might stop blogging now! Please reassure us, Robin, we so look forward to your cheery posts.
ps. The book arrived this morning – a big thumbs up from all who have seen it. Many thanks.
Thank you for the upwardly mobile thumbs!
No chance that I’ll stop–I enjoy too much.
That’s great, congratulations! You can really be proud of you.
Meredith reported in the La Depeche article on Facebook that the book is being translated into French. Are translations into other languages also planned?
You’re right about the myth of bad English food. Unfortunately, there are so many stereotypes and prejudices in the world do not disappear.
Not so far–but we’ll see.
Thanks for that, Martina.
Congrads and Good Eating!
Thanks, Jeaneen

Robin it’s wonderful so clear and easy to read,& those lovely drawings. Meredith Robin thank you so much for a very beautiful and useful book I will treasure it.I am going to buy another one that I can use in the kitchen – they don’t call me Grace for nothing,I can then keep this first one clean.
