Are you enjoying it Robin?
Can’t you tell?!!–hard to leave NYC on a beautiful sunny morning.
If only you were coming to Boston! If I order the book from one of the places you will be at, can they send me an autographed copy? Do you know? Hope you get to my area someday. Enjoy the tour, Robin.
Hi Debra. If you check my blog you’ll see a posting about our travels. There are three bookshops in California that might oblige. Worth emailing them I’d say.I’d be delighted to sign your copy.
Yes Robin New York can be very beautiful, it never fails to surprise me there always seems to be something that you missed last time or it wasn’t there. Take care both of you and enjoy your travels.
Thanks, Robin. Appreciate it-I will email them. Have a great time.
Debra
Hey Robin and Meredith. Hope the tour’s going well and you’re not flagging yet!! It was lovely meeting you and Meredith at Primrose Hill the other week, so relaxed it was like meeting up with old friends!! There were some good pictures though not keen on the one of me with my eyes shut – the camera and I are not good friends!
Happy birthday to Meredith when it comes (can’t quite remember the date).
Take care, Annie xx
We are having a v good time–thanks, Annie.
On the train to Washington now!
It was lovely meeting you all at Primrose hill.
Thanks for coming and Meredith says thanks for the birthday greetings.
had a very interesting occurrence- on my way to an appointment, I was struct with an overwhelming desire for something sweet. jumped out of the car and left the keys inside, and locked the door. After calling AAA (road assistance) to unlock the door, a young thirty or so young man arrived and unlocked my car. I offered him one of he sweets I had just bought and he told me he had Type II diabetes. a, I had your cookbook in the car, I gave it to him professing some of the delicious recipes he might try.
now, I’m nauseated from the sugar, and i hope he uses the cookbook. Great way to pay it forward!
now how might i get another one, but autographed this time?
Sheila
What an extraordinary story. Wonderful.
Well I left some at Primrose Hill bookshop in London.
There are 3 bookshops in California I’ll be at–noted on the tour post–you could ask them if they’d post you one after I’ve signed it.
Good news that he turned the sweets down!
Hi Robin,
You may already know this but the route to D.C is the same one President Obama took from up north going down to D.C. before he was sworn in as president. His train slowed down at different train stops along the way so folks could see him. Some friends of mine in MD where able to see him when he slowed down at one small station. Apparently, there were secret service agents covering the plat form.
I think this train route was taken by President Lincoln from up North down to D.C. I want to say it was taking his coffin but really not clear on this. Perhaps some history buffs on the blog know what happened. I do know that this was a significan event for Lincoln.
I
I read that Lincoln took the train into Washington his inauguration. In those days no TV, so this was a way of letting the people see their President.
President Obama wanted to recall that journey.
I am very excited to see that you will be doing a pop-up book signing in the Chicago area. I located the address for the Barnes & Noble in Evanston. I live in the Twin Cities of Minnesota and plan to drive down to Chicago to meet you and get your autograph on several books and DVDs. Because of the distance I am travelling, if anything changes on your schedule, please keep us posted. This weekend we change into Daylight Savings Time in the midwest. I’ll make sure to get there early so I do not miss you because of the time change! Safe travels!
Take care on the drive, Mary Lou and see you in Evanston!
I’ll look forward to meeting you in San Francisco at The Booksmith. Hopefully our lovely spring weather will still be evidence and you’ll be in the city long enough to enjoy a visit to the Farmer’s Market.
Robin, I am sorry to miss you on this tour. I live in SF but am in the middle of an extended stay with my mom in the Midwest following my dad’s passing. I’m hoping my partner will be able to attend your Booksmith event. Please consider visiting Gracias Madre in the mission while you’re in town. Matthew and Terces have created a wonderful community where everyone enjoys organic vegan Mexican tapas together at community tables. Raw coconut ice cream for dessert!
Dear Mr. Ellis,
As I am sure many have said this over the years, but life is full of all kinds of surprising intersections. My wife and I just discovered you on Netflicks as Capt. Poldark. Now, I find you as a chef of delicious foods for diabetics. Well, I’ve been diabetic for over 20 years, and I truly appreciate what you have done with these recipies. I am now setting out on Dr. Hyman’s regimen for the Blood Sugar Solution. Its good to know that I can look forward to some delicious dishes. We are sorry to have not known of your tour. It would have been a great pleasure to meet you. You blog will be a tremendous resource. Many thanks.
With sincerest regards,
John and Donna Livick-Moses
Thanks John and Donna–next time! Welcome to the blog. I’m glad you have enjoyed Poldark and that you are finding the recipes helpful.
I’m going to have to catch you on the next tour. Was lovely meeting you and Meredith in Bristol this past October. Love to both of you. xx
